Administratively,this islandincludingthe District ofKomodo,West Manggarai regency,East Nusa TenggaraProvince,Indonesia.Komodo Islandis themost westerntip ofEast Nusa Tenggaraprovince, bordering theprovince ofWest Nusa Tenggara.
On the island ofKomodo,Komodoanimalslive and breedwell.UntilAugust 2009,on this islandthere areabout 1,300Komodo dragonstail.Coupledwith theotherislands,such asIslandandRincaandGiliMotang,their numberstotaledabout 2500tails.There are alsoapproximately100 individualsdragonsinWaeWuulNature Reserveon the mainlandisland ofFlores,butnot includingtheKomodoNational Park.
BesidesKomodo,this islandalso storeavariety ofexoticflorathatSepangwoodbylocal peopleusedas amedicinalanddyeclothing,nitaktreeSterculiaoblongatainthis orbelieve tobe usefulas medicinesand seeds aretasty and deliciouslike peas.

In 1910the Dutchnamed theislandon the south sideof East Nusa Tenggaraprovinceisthenickname ofthe island ofKomodo.This storybegins withLieutenantSteynvanHensBroekwhotries to provestatementsabout thepresence ofDutchtroopslarge animalresemblinga dragonon the island.Steynthenkill adragonandbringdocumentationto the Museumand BotanicalGardenin Bogorto be investigated.
In 2009,the Parkhas been nameda finalist inthe "NewSevenWonders of Nature"thatthe newannouncedin 2010by online votingatwww.N7W.com.
Jakarta-Komodo Islandincluded in thesevenwonders of the world(New7Wonders),thisled tothe development of facilitiesandinvestment opportunitiesin theisland'sinfrastructureto supporttourismbusinesses.
Secretary General ofthe Indonesian YoungEntrepreneurs Association(HIPMI) HarryCitizenasksits memberstoinveston the island.
"We willencourageourmemberstoget there, whileKomodoagainon the rise,"Harrysaidin a press releaseon Tuesday (15/11/2011).
Harrysaid,someareas ofinvestment thatallowsfor employerson the island ofKomodois a hotel,restaurants,harbor,transport,to entertainment.Investment patternsthat allowthepartnershipwithforeignand localinvestors.
"Butwehopefromhis ownpocketfirst,"saidHarry.
Previously,employerswho are members ofApindoalsoexpressed readiness toexploreinvestmenton the island ofKomodo.HIPMInot want to missseeingsimilaropportunities.
Meanwhile,EasternIndonesiaRegional CoordinatorBPPHIPMILutvyArisandiasked the government tofix the infrastructureandtourismtransportin NTT,particularlyto andfrom the island ofKomodo.
When thegovernmentto buildadequate infrastructureon the island ofKomodo,foreignanddomesticinvestmentwill flowintothe region andin particularthe island ofKomodo.
"The information thatwecana lot oftourismto foreigninvestorsready togoto Komodo Island, only they,are stillwaitingwhenthere areinfrastructure improvements," saidLutvy.
